If you are a permanent resident with a Green Card, you may qualify to become a U.S. citizen through "naturalization." To qualify, you must be 18 years old and be a legal permanent resident (LPR) for 5 years or 3 years if married and living with a U.S. citizen spouse, have good moral character, and can show that you understand basic English or will get to interview in the language of your choice if age and years of being a LPR have met, 50 years old and 20 years LPR, 55 years old and 15 years (study 100 questions), and 65 years old and 20 years LPR (study 20 questions).

TFC provides citizenship classes in four different languages - Khmer, Lao, Hmong, and Spanish. TFC’s naturalization services are free of charge. TFC also assists clients in applying for a fee waiver or reduced fee upon qualification and requested by the clients. Additionally, TFC provides access to free legal services for those who seek naturalization services at TFC.
